The high-profile mortgage company New Century Financial will pay a dividend of $1.75 (5% increase over last Q) on April 28 to holders as of Wednesday, March 29. With rising interest rates and a flattening yield curve, mortage REIT have not as well as other REIT recently, so you may consider holding on this one.

Anthracite Capital, a mortage REIT, will pay a dividend of $0.28 on May 1 to holders as of Wednesday, March 29. AHR canceled the company’s Dividend Reinvestment and Stock Purchase Plan.

The oil shipper will pay a special dividend of $5 to holders as of Tuesday, March 28. The payment date is unclear. The Company expects to declare an additional special dividend in the amount of $2.50. The declaration of that dividend is expected to be announced towards the end of March 2006.
