Alon USA Energy will pay a dividend of $2.54 on September 14 to holders as of Wednesday, August 30. That’s 6.4% of the share price of $39.66. Of that amount, $2.50 is a special dividend, and 4 cent is the regular quarterly dividend. This comes after a $0.37 per share special payout in February. A booming oil-refining market, plus a few smart acquisitions are quickly turning Alon into a star performer. While Alon is no longer cheap, the long-term growth story may be good enough for those dollars tired or rolling in and out….
