Truckload carrier Heartland Express will pay a special dividend of $2.00 on May 30 to holders as of Tuesday, May 22. That’s 11.1% of the share price of $18.090. HTLD has plenty of cash on its balance sheet, but currently sluggish freight demand and weak pricing may weight down on its share performance in the short term.
