LVB ex-dividend on 2/21 (9%, special)

Steinway Musical Instruments will pay a special dividend of 3.00 on March 9 to holders as of Wednesday, February 21. Thats 8.7% of the share price of 34. Strong cash flows, strong balance sheet. Looks like a winner.

    Recently coming off what looks like a nasty strike and just too little volume for my liking.

    As a short term trader I kind of like low liquidity…

    The cash dividend comes from excess fund that was originally earmarked for the woodwind acquisition, which also caused the recent spike you are referring to. I would let it cool down a bit and buy buy shortly before exdiv
