NRF ex-dividend on 2/1 (2.0%)

NorthStar Realty Finance, a diversified REIT, will pay a regular quarterly dividend of $0.35 on February 15 to holders as of Thursday, February 1. That’s 2.0% of the share price of $17.400, or a 8% annual yield. The dividend is one cent more than last quarter and about a 30 percent bump from a year ago.

    I know that today is the ex-div. date, but can I buy the stock as of right now (10AM) or did I have to own it at the time the bell opened the session today? Thanks -

    No, you need to own as of market opening.
